Byker In Bloom 2023
Byker in Bloom has been an annual Gardening competition that has been running for the past 21 years. It is run by the Byker Ward Committee and supported by Byker Community Trust.
As part of the competition last Summer term, our school entered into the young gardener grow you own category.
The children throughout school have been learning how to grow and look after fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers since our project work with Edible Gardens. This has gone from strength to strength and is something both children and staff are passionate about.
It is now with great pleasure, that I share the Byker Primary School Students have won a commendation award for Growing our own.
A huge thank you to all of the staff and pupils that have made this award possible. Well done.
